How To Choose The Perfect Candle

Step 1

Choose a candle without paraffin wax (made from petroleum waste) and without synthetic fragrances and dyes (Volatile Organic Compounds – VOC’s, even at room temperature). When burned, these candles can release harmful and carcinogenic chemicals, causing health problems from headaches to allergies.

Step 2

Avoid formulas that include formaldehyde, petroleum distillates, limonene, alcohol and esters. Even natural essential oils can omit VOC’s, but far less so than chemicals. Always choose premium quality oils and read the label to avoid toxic ingredients.

Step 3

Choose a cotton wick to ensure a safe and clean burn. A thin or unsatisfactory wick can burn away too quickly, leaving the candle wax behind. Don’t just choose the brands you know. Do your research and find a candle with premium quality natural ingredients.

Love Light Life candles are 100% natural with a blend of essential oils, soy and coconut wax. Designed in the UK, with premium ingredients sourced from France, and glass from Italy.

How To Use A Candle Safely

Always read the label. All candles now have pictograms on their labels to make it easy to understand the safety rules. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Burn the candle out of the reach of children and pets.

Trim wick to 0.5cm before lighting. The wax will become fluid when lit. Do not move the candle once lit. The glass will heat during use, so avoid touching the outside. Always stand the candle on a suitable heat resistant surface.

Always leave 10cm of space between burning candles. Do not burn candles on or near anything flammable. We recommend burning for a minimum of 1 hour to ensure the wax is melted all the way to the edge of the glass, so the surface remains flat (this will help avoiding craters).

Burn for a maximum of 4 hours. If the flame becomes too large, the candle will start to smoke and soot will be released into the air and around your candle container. Each of our candles has up to 50 hours of burn time. Always extinguish your candle with care.
